Six weeks off: summer holiday ideas in Bristol

By week three the novelty has gone and the phrase "I am bored" has been said out loud. Here is one day sorted.

The week three wall

The first fortnight looks after itself. It is the middle of August, when the money has gone and the weather has broken, that needs a plan you have not used already.

Something they cannot do on a screen

A room full of physical things to find, open and work out. Children are usually better at the searching than the adults, and it is good for them to notice that.

Ages and group sizes

Each room takes 2-6 players. Larger groups split across rooms and play at the same time, then compare times afterwards. We can take 18 people at once across the venue.

From about eight with an adult in the room. Teenagers who claim to be too cool for it are, reliably, the ones who take charge fifteen minutes in.

Cost for a family

Prices are per person and come down as the team grows, from £20 each.

Getting here

Inside Laser Fusion at The Old Fire Station on Silver Street, near Broadmead.

The Galleries car park is closest; Cabot Circus is about a ten minute walk.
