1. Clue HQ Bristol
We are inside Laser Fusion at The Old Fire Station on Silver Street, in the middle of town near Broadmead. Three escape rooms, sixty minutes, private to your group, with the Galleries car park closest.
We would say that, of course. Everything below is what our games hosts actually recommend when people ask what else there is to do.
2. Brunel’s SS Great Britain
The first iron-hulled, screw-propelled passenger steamship in the world, sitting in the dry dock she was built in. You walk under the glass sea around her hull and then through the ship itself. Comfortably the best thing to do in Bristol on a wet afternoon.
3. The Clifton Suspension Bridge
Brunel again, finished in 1864, five years after he died. Free to walk across, with the gorge dropping away beneath you, and a small free museum on the Leigh Woods side that explains how on earth they built it.
4. The Harbourside
Ten minutes from us on foot. M Shed for the city’s own history, We The Curious for hands-on science, and a loop of the water past Millennium Square with somewhere to eat every fifty yards.
5. Hart’s Bakery
Under the arches beside Temple Meads station, and the local answer to where to eat before a train. Sourdough, pastries and proper lunch plates, made that morning. Get there early; they sell out.
Before you go
Opening times, prices and menus change, so check with each place before you travel, especially out of season. Our own games are advance booking only, so book your slot first and build the rest of the day around it.
