Get the shape right first
Away days that work follow the same rhythm: something active while everyone is still sharp, food in the middle, something lighter after. An escape room sits best late morning or straight after lunch, when people are awake but not yet watching the clock.
Allow an hour and a half per game, including the briefing and photos.
Work out the numbers
Each room takes 2-6 players. Larger groups split across rooms and play at the same time, then compare times afterwards. We can take 24 people at once across the venue.
Teams of four to six are the sweet spot. Below four a room feels quiet, and above seven people start watching rather than playing.
Mix the teams up
Put people with colleagues they do not normally sit near. The whole point is watching your team solve something with people they have never solved anything with, and it is the quiet ones who usually turn out to be good at it.
Book the activity before the restaurant
Game slots on a Friday afternoon go weeks ahead, and a table is far easier to move than six game slots. Get the rooms held, then build lunch around them.
