Clue HQ hosts various themed rooms full of clues, riddles, locks and puzzles. Each game challenges groups of up to seven guests to use team work and initiative to escape within sixty minutes. It’s a real life escape room.

Friends, family, corporate team building events, birthdays, nights out, stag dos, hen dos – anyone who would like to experience something different! Those over 7 years old are welcome, though we feel under 10s may find it too difficult. For under 16 years old, a waiver form must be signed by an adult to allow them to be inside on their own.

We open 7 days a week. Our first game starts at 10:15 a.m. and our last game starts at 8:45 p.m., we recommend looking at our book online page. This will give you a live calendar of what is available.

We recommend 4 people, but we can have groups of 2 to 6. More people doesn’t necessarily mean a faster escape!

Your game only takes place with your team – you won’t have players you don’t know in your game. We do start multiple games at the same time, therefore other groups may be waiting in the reception areas waiting to start their own game.

At no point is strength required through the game. Some things within the game do require physical movement but nothing strenuous. In some games, you need to be able to walk up and down steps or crawl. Click on ‘health’ on the escape games page for further information.

Yes, in most games! There’s nothing too physical and, at your request, we can put a chair in the room if you’d like to sit down at any point. Also, you’ll be able to leave via the entrance door at any time. Please ensure you check the ‘health’ section on the escape games page which will have more information regarding the physical ability required for each game.

It’s not common for guests to leave due to claustrophobia as the games themselves do have a bit of space to them. You can, however, exit the room (via the entrance door) at any point if you need to. If you are worried please ensure you let our Games Host know before you enter and we’ll ensure you’re comfortable during your visit.

No. Under no circumstances are you to consume any alcohol before playing your game. If you arrive under the influence of any alcohol you will not be admitted or refunded. This is in the judgement of the Clue HQ team and we have the right to refuse admittance.

All bookings are made online, in advance. It’s a live game experience, and therefore we are unable to accept cancellations and have a strict no refund policy. This includes when using gift vouchers from our own or 3rd party sites.

You’ll receive a short briefing when you first arrive which should last around 5 minutes. The actual game lasts around 60 minutes (depending on how quickly and if you escape). Then the debrief should last around 5 minutes where we’ll take a free group photo.

Our Games Hosts may be occupied with a game session should you arrive too early. Try to aim to arrive at your game start time.

Yes, you can add additional players and pay on the day as long as it does not exceed the maximum capacity of the room. The capacity for each room can be found on the room can be found under the ‘Escape Games’ section on our website.

Try to give us a call (see here for our contact information), or e-mail as soon as possible to let us know. Even if you’re running late we sometimes allow you to play with a reduced time limit. It is likely your game time will be reduced if you arrive late. Due to bookings after your time slot (and the reset time required) if you are more than 15 minutes late your game will be cancelled and you will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Yes! We have a room available to book upon request for 30 minutes after your game. To book the room, please either call us on 02039039500 or email us at kingston@cluehq.co.uk and we can add it into your booking.

The party room is free of charge, provided you have a paid booking for an escape game.

We do not offer catering for birthday parties, however you are more than welcome to bring your own food and drink onto the premises. We do offer cans and bottled soft drinks for individual purchase at the venue.

Yes, you may bring any decorations to put up in the space for your given time. The space is usually decorated with birthday banners and balloons but any extra that you may like can be brought in and put up.

There are seven complimentary parking spots located at the building’s front, available on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.

The seven designated parking spaces are marked in yellow on the layout below. Kindly use these designated bays if they are available. Parking in any other area will result in a parking fine. Further details can be found on the on-site blue sign.

Please be aware that due to limited parking space, each group participating in the escape game should utilize only one parking spot.
