GUIDE

Online escape rooms: how they work (and who they’re for)

Same puzzles-against-the-clock feeling, played from your own sofa with people who might be hundreds of miles away.

What you actually do

You open a link in your browser and find yourself inside a 360° room. You search it, pick things up, drag them together and type codes - while everyone on your team sees the same room and each other’s cursors. A video call on whatever app you already use handles the talking.

What it costs

One ticket per team, £15, however many people you invite. There is no fixed start time: the link works for 24 hours and the in-game timer is 60 minutes.

Who it’s for

Remote teams who want a social that isn’t a quiz. Families split across cities. Friends abroad. Anyone who has done our real rooms and wants more - The Warp Core is built from the same sets.

Which one first

Trapped on a Train is the gentler introduction. The Warp Core is a three-part series you can play over a few weeks, and it leans harder on teamwork.

Kit check

A laptop, tablet or PC (phones are too small), a decent connection - we test on 20 Mb - and Chrome or Safari up to date. Headphones help with a couple of audio puzzles.
