The scary one
The Hellevator is our Halloween room, and it is the reason people come back in October. A game show run by two eccentric scientists, thirteen floors, smoke and flashing lights. It is our most intense hour and the one with the darkest themes.
Ages 12 and up. Additional restrictions apply for pregnancy and heart conditions, so check the health guidance before you book a group.
Scary, but not that scary
Not everyone wants to be frightened, and Halloween groups are usually split down the middle. The Betrayal of Cluetankhamun gives you a tomb, a missing expedition and a genuine sense of dread without anything jumping out. It is also our hardest room, with the lowest escape rate.
If half your group wants the fright and half does not, book both rooms in the same slot and compare notes afterwards.
Halloween with younger players
For families, The Legend of Miyalock has a dragon and a mountain and no scares at all. Ages 8 up with an adult in the room. It is the right choice if you want atmosphere rather than a fright.
Booking the week itself
The last week of October is our busiest of the autumn, and Halloween night goes first. Book evening slots several weeks ahead. Weekday evenings in the run-up are quieter and, honestly, better - the same room, fewer people in reception.
Come in costume if you like. It is warm inside, there are steps in every room, and you will be moving around, so pick something you can crouch in.
