Why it works in the holidays
School holidays are hard because the group is never the same twice: cousins, a friend from down the road, a teenager who has been told to come. An escape room absorbs that. Teams of two to seven, ages 8 up, no skill required and no one sitting out.
Booking around the rush
Mornings and early afternoons in the holidays are the quietest. Prices start at £25 per person once you are a team of five or more, the same every day. Half terms fill faster than the summer, so book those further ahead.
Two rooms, two teams
If you have got a big holiday group, put the teenagers in one room and everyone else in another at the same time, then compare. It keeps the older ones interested and stops the younger ones being carried.
Making it a whole afternoon
We are five minutes from Snow Hill Station, so the train keeps it simple and cheap. Lunch in the Jewellery Quarter afterwards, or the canals at Brindleyplace if it is dry.
